What Strat-O-Matic rules are used in Baseball Max?

Modified on Thu, 27 Jun at 12:20 PM

The Super-Advanced rule set is the base level of rules that are used. Baseball Max goes further and uses the “maximum rules” that offer even more options and statistical accuracy than the highest level of play that the Strat-O-Matic board game offers. These include rules for realistic out distribution, baserunning, home field advantage, pitcher clutch, and more. While these rules might lead to a slight variance from traditional dice roll outcomes, they enrich the game with a deeper layer of strategy and realism. A full list of “maximum rules” used in the game is listed below:

  • Improve Out Distribution
  • Bunt for Base Hit
  • Improve Baserunning Realism
  • More Baserunning Decisions
  • Home Field Advantage
  • Starting Pitcher Clutch
  • Doubles/Triples Option
  • Force Daily Injuries
  • Realistic Throwing Errors
  • Allow Extra Pre-1920 Errors
  • Robbing HR Rule
  • Board Game Excesses
  • Allow Errors on Bunts
  • Allow Errors on Pickoffs
  • Catcher Blocking The Plate Rule
  • Throttle “Monster Cards”
